MEDIA ADVISORY:
FIRE COMMISSIONER NICHOLAS SCOPPETTA
TO ATTEND REDEDICATION CEREMONY
AT THE BROOKLYN WALL OF REMEMBRANCE
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta, along
with other top representatives from FDNY, NYPD and PAPD, as
well as elected officials, Sunday will attend a rededication
ceremony at the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance located outside
Keyspan Park in Coney Island. The wall pays tribute to 137
FDNY, 11 NYPD, and seven PAPD members that either worked or
lived in the borough of Brooklyn, and were killed in the line
of duty on September 11th. It features laser engraved granite
portraits of those killed and serves as a place of reflection
for all that pass by. The wall was originally dedicated last
December and included only FDNY members who responded from
Brooklyn firehouses and were killed on 9-11. It now serves
as a tribute to all the uniformed heroes of Brooklyn.
