The Daily News presents the 2nd Annual
Firefighter Steve Mercado Stickball Classic

The NYPD and the FDNY meet head-to-head in a true street game of streetball. Battling for longest shot and total cumulative team distance, the Finest and Bravest stickball teams meet in the MetroTech Commons to battle it out.

On his first attempt Nick 'the Stick' Scoppetta set the tone for the afternoon by launching a huge 160 footer sparking a rousing cheer from the home team crowd and squashing Police Commissioner Kelly's long ball dreams.
