MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG AND FIRE COMMISSIONER NICHOLAS
SCOPPETTA TO ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICE FOR FIREFIGHTER MICHAEL CAMMARATA
Mayor Michael
Bloomberg and Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta tomorrow
will attend the funeral service for firefighter Michael Cammarata of Ladder
Company 11. Cammarata was one of six probationary firefighters, and at age
22, the youngest member of FDNY killed on 9-11. His assigned unit lost six
members in the terrorist attacks. The funeral will be held at 11 am at Our
Lady Star of the Sea Church located on 5371 Amboy Road in Staten Island.
His parents Joseph and Linda, his sister Kimberly, and his brother Joseph, who
is also a firefighter assigned to Engine Company 157 in Staten Island, survive
him. A memorial service was held in his memory on October 5, 2001.
