THE USS PHILIPPINE SEA TO PRESENT FDNY ENGINE COMPANY 16 /
LADDER COMPANY 7
WITH MEMORIAL PLAQUE
AS A SIGN OF SOLIDARITY TO FDNY
Tomorrow morning at 0930 hours, members of the US. Navy vessel
the USS Philippine Sea will be at Engine Company 16 / Ladder
Company 7 to present the firehouse with a memorial plaque
recognizing the losses suffered by FDNY on 9-11. The USS Philippine
Sea is currently at port in Manhattan as part of the Fleet
Week celebration and was one of the first vessels deployed
in Operation Enduring Freedom. Relatives of Richie Muldowney,
a firefighter assigned to Ladder 7 and killed on 9-11 will
also be on hand for the ceremony. Richie's brother in law
is assigned aboard the USS Philippine Sea and launched a Tomahawk
Cruise Missile in his memory during the opening days of the
war on terror.
