Fire Safety Unit Targets Communities Affected by Hurricane Sandy

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, fires in New York City have increased 37 percent.
The FDNY’s Fire Safety Education Unit hopes to curb the trend and promote fire safety education in devastated communities by giving away free batteries, smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors.
