Hundreds ran in the eighth annual Firefighter Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run on Sept. 27 in Lower Manhattan.

Firefighters and friends throughout the city and around the world participated in the 5K race through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, which honors Firefighter Siller of Squad 1. Firefighter Siller ran through the tunnel -- in full gear -- to respond to the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, where he lost his life.

The race raised money for the Stephen Siller, FDNY, “Let Us Do Good” Children’s Foundation, which assists a number of charities, including the Pediatric Unit of the NYC Firefighter Burn Center and burn centers throughout the nation.
