FDNY Firehouse Receives New Physical Fitness Equipment

Members of Engine 54/Ladder 4/Battalion 9 received a $7,740 check from Hilb & Rogal and the Fireman's Fund Insurance Company on February 28 for the purchase of a new treadmill and elliptical machine.

The grant package is part of a nationwide program called Fireman’s Fund Heritage, which is funded by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. The program provides needed equipment, training and educational tools to fire departments.

Since 2004, Fireman’s Fund has issued grants to hundreds of different departments totaling over $17 million, including approximately $200,000 to the FDNY alone.
