FDNY Joins American Red Cross in Announcing Free Battery Giveaway

The FDNY got an early start on Fire Prevention Week on October 2 as it joined the American Red Cross of Greater New York in Brooklyn to announce the humanitarian organization is giving away free smoke alarm batteries and fire safety literature at each of its five New York City locations.
“This is an excellent way to help kick off fire safety week,” said Chief of Department Salvatore Cassano. “We’re grateful to the American Red Cross for helping us keep New Yorkers fire safe.”
