Your Admissions Card will provide you with the date, time, and location you are scheduled to take the exam. It will also include information about the computer-based tutorial program.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING FIREFIGHTER EXAM:
TEST DATES: Administration of the computer-based test will begin March 15, 2012 and continue for approximately 5 weeks. If you registered to take the exam you should have received an Admission Notice in the mail by January 27, 2012 assigning you to a test date and time at a testing center. If you have not received your Admission Notice send an email to fdnyschedule@psionline.com with your full name and Social Security number or call the Candidate Support Center at and leave a message with your full name, home mailing address, a phone number, and your Social Security number. Subject to availability of open dates, times and locations, you will be able to reschedule your test date, time or location by visiting http://fdny.psiexams.com anytime on or after February 25, 2012 or by calling the Candidate Support Center at 1-800-701-0289 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, February 25th and 26th. After February 26th, the regular operating hours of the Call Center are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The computer-based test (CBT) is designed to assess important abilities and aptitudes that are required to successfully learn and perform the work of an FDNY Firefighter. The test will evaluate basic abilities, such as Reading, Listening, Problem Solving, Basic Arithmetic and related areas. It also will assess the way candidates approach work, interact with others, and concentrate on details.
THE COMPUTER-BASED TUTORIAL IS NOW AVAILABLE! The computer-based tutorial will allow you to become familiar with computer-based testing and the various question types. You are strongly encouraged to take the tutorial. Click here to access the Computer-Based Tutorial.

Properly completed application forms can be submitted by using two options:
- Online at the DCAS WEBSITE: Go to the Online Application System (OASys) ay www.nyc.gov/examsforjobs and follow the onscreen instructions for electronically submitting your application and completing any required forms.
- In person: You may come to the DCAS Computerized Testing Centers to file for this examination online, submit a money order, or obtain a paper application for this examination.
