Developed state-of-the-art applications to improve case management of the BHS/WTC Medical Monitoring & Treatment Program

The Programming Group has developed state-of-the-art applications and data bases to enable the Bureau of Health Services to more effectively manage the WTC Medical Monitoring and Treatment Program (MMTP). These applications include:

• WTC survey--a touch-screen kiosk application to capture members’ health profiles before and after 9/11
• WFS--Wellness and Fitness System that captures members’ pulmonary, vision, hearing, fitness and vital signs
• Cancer tracking
• Data warehouse of laboratory results
• Integration of drug prescription and pharmaceutical systems

Group members deserve praise for their dedication and performance in producing these software solutions, which have enabled the Department and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to capture information that is invaluable to the long-term health of FDNY’s members.

For their accomplishments and efforts to improve case monitoring of the BHS/WTC Medical Monitoring & Treatment Program, the above-listed members of the BHS Programming Group are presented with the Community Mayors Nicholas DeGaeta Award.
