 Our annual Administrative Awards ceremony is a chance to honor the best among our
civilian and uniformed administrative employees at the FDNY. It is an opportunity
to say thank you to the men and women in administrative positions who demonstrate
the ingenuity and professionalism that the people of this City deserve.
Without your help, the brave uniformed members of the FDNY could not do their jobs
protecting life and property in New York City. As the 2007 medal/award recipients honored
in this publication, you have been instrumental in implementing many crucial initiatives
that assist the uniformed members in their positions.
You have all made this Department and this City your life’s work. Each of you has
played a part in ensuring that FDNY can better carry out its critical mission of providing
firefighting and emergency medical service to New York City. And, you should be proud of
that.
On behalf of the entire Department--both uniformed and civilian--I congratulate the
winners of this year’s awards. We are fortunate to have such talented and dedicated individuals
in our midst and I am proud to formally recognize your efforts.
