What is Human Trafficking?

Human trafficking is a terrible crime that exploits innocent and vulnerable people. Human trafficking involves the recruiting, transporting, selling, or buying of people for the purpose of various forms of exploitation. These victims are often controlled through force, fraud, or coercion.

Let's Call an End to Human Trafficking

If you are a victim of human trafficking or would like to report a tip regarding suspected human trafficking, call 911 in an emergency.  If you have information regarding human trafficking which is not an emergency, would like more information about human trafficking or would like to learn about how you can help, call 311.  If you live outside of New York City, call the toll-free National Hotline at 1-888-3737-888.

New York City Mayor's Office, in Observance of National Celebrate Pro Bono Week, Honors Davis Wright Tremaine and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan for Anti-Human Trafficking Efforts
The New York City Mayor’s Office presented its 2011 Pro Bono Awards on Tuesday November 1st at the New York County Lawyers Association offices at 14 Vesey Street. The awards, presented by Administrative Justice Coordinator David Goldin, honored Davis Wright Tremaine LLP and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP for work done by Davis Wright Tremaine partner Ed Davis and former associate Maya Menendez, and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan partner Kevin Curnin.
