Resolution without a Hearing: Payment

Check your NOV to see if it has a section labeled "Mailable Penalty Schedule." If your NOV has this section and it is filled-in or checked-off, you can avoid a hearing by paying the amount listed within ten days of receiving your NOV.

Are you eligible?
The front of your NOV will indicate if you are eligible.

What do you need to do?
Pay the mail-in penalty listed on your NOV within ten days of when the violation was issued.

What happens?
By paying, you are admitting that you are responsible for the violation. Once you pay, you give up your right to a hearing. This means that ECB will not issue a decision in your case and you cannot appeal the violation. The NOV is resolved and the case is closed.
