Skate Day 2005
Hundreds of school-aged children, participants in the New York City Out-of-School Time (OST) initiative, took to the ice at The Pond at Bryant Park to highlight that OST programs operate on school breaks and many school holidays. The Pond donated the rink time and skate rentals.

YouthWeek 2005
YouthWeek was sponsored by the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to bring together young people, public officials, community groups and corporate leaders to focus on an issue of importance to the City's youth. The theme for YouthWeek 2005 was community service. YouthWeek 2005 was presented in partnership with Children for Children and City Year New York and culminated with National Youth Service Day on Saturday April 16th. Together, DYCD, Children for Children and City Year New York worked mobilize hundreds of NYC youth to learn, serve, and represent their communities through various service projects.

Fourth Annual DYCD Art Exhibit and Contest -  On January 24, DYCD and the Queens Library hosted an awards ceremony for the winners of the Fourth Annual DYCD Art Contest and Exhibit.  Staff and participants from all DYCD-funded organizations were invited to participate in the contest.
