Senior Programs

Almost 12% of New Yorkers are 65 or older. DYCD funds a variety of support programs for New Yorkers who are 60 and older that help them maintain a high degree of self-sufficiency.

Services are designed to promote physical and social well-being. They include:

  • Social and cultural activities at community centers
  • Intergenerational activities
  • Promoting exercise and nutrition
  • Providing supportive services to older adults raising grandchildren
  • Assistance accessing health insurance, medical help and
    community services
