Interagency Coordinating Counci on Youth

History

The Interagency Coordinating Council on Youth (ICC) was created in 1989 to promote interagency collaboration on issues pertinent to New York City youth and their families.  Responding to a need to improve and increase service delivery for youth the City Council in 1992 and 1996 amended §735 to strengthen and expand the role of the ICC.

Under the leadership of the Bloomberg administration led by Deputy Mayor Dennis M. Walcott and Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) Commissioner Jeanne B. Mullgrav, the ICC has developed several work groups focusing on specific topics which include after school and court-involved youth.  The work groups meet on a regular basis and report to the larger ICC group.

The ICC membership meets quarterly and convenes an annual public hearing.   To learn more about the ICC, join a work group or register to testify at the annual public hearing, please email ICC@dycd.nyc.gov.
