October 2011 – NYC Named one of America’s 100 Best Communities for Young People by America's Promise Alliance and ING
In a celebration of America’s young people and the communities most dedicated to helping local youth graduate from high school, America’s Promise Alliance has announced the 2011 list of 100 Best Communities for Young People presented by ING. This year, more than 300 communities in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., were nominated for the competition. Twenty-two communities are now five-time winners and 29 communities are first-time recipients of the honor. New York City was recognized for the 4th time as one of the best communities for youth.
February 25, 2011 - Commissioner Receives Award from New York State Senator Adriano Espaillat and City Local Elected officials
Commissioner Jeanne B. Mullgrav received the award for Outstanding Service to New York City Youth by Senator Adriano Espaillat and City Local Elected officials. The award was given in an event held at Isabella Geriatric Center, in conjunction with the Dominican Heritage Month and Black History Month Celebrations.
