October 17, 2003 - 15th Anniversary of the Dominican Women's Center
Commissioner Mullgrav was honored at the 15th anniversary celebration of the Dominican Women's Center.

October 7, 2003 - Rotary Club of New York Foundation Grant
DYCD was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Rotary Club of New York Foundation - World Trade Center Disaster Relief Fund, to be used for the YouthFUSION Summit. Commissioner Mullgrav accepted the grant at a presentation ceremony held at the Princeton Club.

June 1, 2003 - Miss Little Branches of Boriquen 2003-4 Pageant
Assistant Commissioner Nitza V. Monges was presented with a plaque at the Little Branches of Boriquen, Inc. Annual Miss Little Branches of Boriquen 2003-2004 Pageant, in recognition of her support of NYC youth. She was also presented with a Community Service Award by Bronx Community Board #6.

May 17, 2003 - By-Ways and Hedges Youth for Christ Ministry
Karen Fleshman, Director of Special Projects, was recognized for her work in Flatbush and Crown Heights by the By-Ways and Hedges Youth for Christ Ministry, an agency that serves the Caribbean immigrant population.

May 8, 2003 - Family Development Association of New York State - President's Award for an Individual
Meryl M. Jones, Director of Family Development, was presented with the President's Award for an Individual at the Fifth Annual Conference of the Family Development Association of New York State (FDANYS). This award is presented to an individual that has demonstrated leadership in promoting Family Development practices.

May 2, 2003 - Patronato Don Eugenio de Hostos, Inc. - Our Heritage Foundation
Jorge Mendizabal from the DYCD Immigration Unit received a recognition award from Patronato Don Eugenio de Hostos, Inc. - Our Heritage Foundation for his dedication to the Washington Heights community.
