Resources for CBOs

DYCD is only as strong as the community-based organizations it contracts with. We provide a variety of services designed to help agencies build capacity, establish sound financial practices, and take advantage of available resources:

Capacity Building Unit
Helps DYCD funded CBOs operate efficiently and effectively.

Family Development Training and Credentialing (FDC)
Provides frontline workers with the skills and competencies needed to work more effectively with families and individuals.

CBO Financial Services
Fiscal management tools for DYCD-funded CBOs.

Contracting Opportunities - RFPs
Learn more about available funding sources.

Discretionary Awards
DYCD is responsible for administering funds allocated by the New York City Council to community-based organizations through human services contracts. Any organization applying to the New York City Council to receive a discretionary award greater than $10,000 must complete a Prequalification Application.

Youth Group Subway Transportation Program
Free Group Subway Certificates for eligible youth organizations.

Afterschool Pathfinder 
Pathfinder is a free user-friendly website that connects afterschool workers to job, training and career opportunities in New York City.  The site is operated by The Afterschool School Corporation (TASC) and was developed with support from DYCD and the Wallace Foundation.  It is a valuable resource for afterschool related job opportunities.
