The New York City Department of Sanitation
(DSNY) announced today that in observance of Independence Day, there will
be no garbage or
recycling collection, or street cleaning on Saturday, July 4th,
2009. In addition, all Sanitation Department administrative offices will be closed
on Friday, July 3rd, in observance of the holiday.
Residents who normally receive
Saturday garbage collection should
place their trash out at curbside Sunday after 5 P.M.
for pickup. Those receiving Saturday recycling collection will not have their
recycling picked up until the following Saturday, July 11th.
