NYC DOT Resumes Work on 11th Avenue in Manhattan During Daytime Hours

Starting next Monday, June 24, weather permitting, the New York City Department of Transportation will continue the conversion of 11th Avenue to one-way southbound flow between West 57th Street and West 52nd Street in Manhattan. Crews will begin changing pavement markings and traffic signage as early as 5 a.m. Work is expected to take one week.

This work is a continuation of an ongoing project to improve traffic flow for vehicles bound for the Lincoln Tunnel and enhance safety for all roadway users. Later this summer, DOT will also install pedestrian islands on the west side of 11th Avenue as well as a protected bicycle lane on the west side between West 57th Street and 43rd Street.
