DOT'S Weekend Walks Kicks off 11TH Year of Car-Free Programming
Citywide program to host 14 miles of car-free events

The New York City Department of Transportation announced today, the 11th season of Weekend Walks starting on Saturday, April 15, 2018. Weekend Walks are multi-block, multi-day events on commercial corridors that promote the use of streets as public space. This year, DOT is partnering with 51 community based organizations to produce 14 miles of car-free events every weekend from April through November in all five boroughs. Weekend Walks events feature family friendly activities, active lifestyle programming, and support of local small businesses. All Weekend Walks events are free and open to the public.
