NYC DOT Announces Seasonal Pothole Repair Efforts Across All Five Boroughs This Weekend

In an effort to curtail potholes that have developed as a result of fluctuating temperatures and increased precipitation, the agency will dispatch over 50 crews this Saturday to make repairs on residential streets, commercial corridors, and highways

DOT has already filled nearly 50,000 potholes since mid-December

New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Polly Trottenberg today announced the agency’s first seasonal pothole blitz this winter. From 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, DOT will dispatch crews throughout all five boroughs directing efforts along residential streets, commercial corridors, and arterial roadways – continuing to bring city streets to a state of good repair.

The de Blasio Administration’s continued investment in resurfacing in recent years has resulted in overall decline in potholes citywide. Average response time to potholes remains about 1.5 days.
