The New York City Department of Transportation announced the reopening of all entrances and lanes closed for the demolition of the Steinway Street Bridge 17.5 hours ahead of the scheduled Monday 5 am opening. All road closures and traffic patterns along the Grand Central Parkway, Astoria Boulevard North and South and Brooklyn Queens Expressway were returned to normal as of 11:30 am Sunday, February 26, 2006.
