e-Permits

The Department of Transportation's e-Permits is the fast, easy way to apply for a New York City parking permit online.

If you represent a not-for-profit organization, you can apply electronically for Annual On-Street Parking Permits. If you represent a City, State or Federal government agency whose employees need to park while conducting official business, you can apply electronically for Agency Business Parking Permits.

If you are an individual with a disability that impairs mobility, you can apply electronically for a City or State Parking Permit for People with Disabilities.

What Is e-Permits?

e-Permits is a Citywide program to establish an electronic permitting system as part of the move to e-Government. Applicants will be able to apply online, and the Department will be able to approve the applications on the computer before printing the permits.

Benefits of e-Permits

e-Permits provides numerous benefits to both DOT as the issuing agency and the customer base we serve:

• It streamlines the issuance process. Electronic application by the customer eliminates paper, errors, and processing time.
• It eliminates issuance of multiple DOT permits to one vehicle.
• It significantly enhances analytical and reporting capability.
• It enables the agency to implement a computerized printing program that standardizes permit size, streamlines production and develops a more secure permit.

e-Permits enables you to conduct business with DOT over the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It helps to improve the public's access to government by providing a service electronically.

Remember: there is no need to stand in line, when you can apply for your permit online.

Renewal of Permits

Please note that the online system cannot be used to renew permits, since some renewals need to be re-assessed by DOT staff.
