NYC DOT Completes 50 Vision Zero Street Design Projects Making NYC Safer

In the first year of #VisionZero, NYC DOT completed more than 50 street design projects. Highlights from 2014 include: implemented 27 new arterial slow zones, overhauled 35 dangerous intersections, installed 400 new speed humps, activated 45 leading pedestrian intervals, built over five miles of new protected bike lanes, and lowered the speed limit in five new neighborhood slow zones.

NYC’s Popular Bikeshare Program is Expanding

The Citi Bike program will double in size to 12,000 bikes and over 700 stations by the end of 2017. Citi Bike will expand in Queens, further into Brooklyn and Manhattan. Suggest where you want a station with our “Suggest-A-Station” portal!
