Rebecca Zack, Assistant Commissioner of Intergovernmental and Community Affairs

Rebecca Zack has been the Assistant Director of Intergovernmental and Community Affairs at the New York City Department of Transportation since June 2017. She has served in various positions in the Intergovernmental and Finance divisions at the agency since 2009.

As Assistant Commissioner, Ms. Zack oversees and manages the outreach and development of relationships with over 150 New York City elected officials and community organizations across the city. Ms. Zack is responsible for DOT’s strategy in responding to concerns from elected officials – these issues can range from a damaged sidewalk, to our largest mandate, Vision Zero, NYC’s traffic safety initiative to reduce roadway fatalities and injuries to zero.

Previously Ms. Zack served as Program Director for a New York State Senator, where she managed over $33 million in budget allocations to not-for-profits and municipalities. Ms. Zack has a B.A. in English from the University at Albany. She lives in Brooklyn and loves to cook, bake, run and visit her nephew in North Carolina.
