Ed Pincar, Manhattan Borough Commissioner

Edward Pincar, Jr. was appointed Manhattan Borough Commissioner in August 2018. In this role, he serves as the Commissioner’s principal adviser for the delivery of transportation services throughout Manhattan. Mr. Pincar works closely with the borough’s residents, businesses, elected officials, community boards, and institutions to address their transportation questions and concerns.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Pincar held several positions within NYC DOT, most recently serving as Deputy Borough Commissioner in Manhattan since 2016. His other roles included Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Director of Special Projects for the First Deputy Commissioner. Mr. Pincar joined NYC DOT in 2007 as a community coordinator in the Staten Island Borough Commissioner’s office.

A native New Yorker, Mr. Pincar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Wake Forest University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
