Check who operates bridges and tunnels

The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed for longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8 am and breakdown must be completed by 7 pm.

Manhattan

East 59th Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rdAvenue: This street will be closed from 7am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate NYCDDC trunk water main and utility work. Motorists should use alternate routes and posted detours to access Queensboro Bridge such as 2nd Avenue southbound or East 58th Street eastbound onto the Second Avenue contra flow lane.

Robert F. Wagner Senior Place on Ramp to Southbound FDR Drive; Robert F. Wagner Senior Place eastbound between Pearl Street and South Street: This ramp and street will be closed from 11pm Friday through 6am Monday to facilitate NYCDOT bridge rehabilitation.

Park Row Northbound (Ramp G) onto the Brooklyn Bridge Eastbound to Brooklyn: This ramp will be closed 11pm Friday to 6am Monday, February 10-13, 17-20, and again 24-27. Motorists should gain access to the Bridge at Chambers Street and Centre Street or from Pearl Street at Frankfort Street.

East 13th Street between 5th Street and University Place: This street will be closed 6am Saturday to 9pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

East 21st Street between Lexington Street and 3rd Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 33rd Street between 8th Avenue and 7th Avenue: This street will be closed 12:01am Saturday through 6pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

East 35th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation. Additionally the east parking lane will be closed on 6th Avenue and East 35th Street to facilitate the work.

West 39th Street between Avenue of the Americas and 5th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 43rd Street between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 45th Street between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 6am to 9pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 46th Street between 2nd Avenue and 1st Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 48th Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue: This street will be closed 10pm Friday to 2pm Saturday and/or 10pm Saturday to 2pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

East 48th Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 57th Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue: One lane in each direction will be maintained for traffic 6am to 4pm Saturday and/or Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

West 96th Street Transverse roadway between Central Park West and 5th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 4pm to facilitate NYC Parks Department tree maintenance.

Gramercy Park East between East 20th Street and East 21st Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

Manhattan/Brooklyn

Brooklyn Bridge: This Bridge is closed to Manhattan-bound traffic overnight as of Monday night April 4th 2011 to perform necessary long term rehabilitation and repainting work. Brooklyn-bound traffic will be maintained throughout the project as will the span’s pedestrian and cycling path. Motorists should follow signed routes to access the bridge leaving Manhattan. The northbound FDR exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting 1 hour before closure hours noted below. Motorists should use the prior exit at South Street. The Brooklyn Queens Expressway eastbound exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting as early as 30 minutes before closure hours noted below. Motorists should proceed to the following Manhattan Bridge exit or use the prior Brooklyn Battery Tunnel (pay toll) exit for access to Manhattan. All work will occur overnight during off peak hours, when Manhattan-bound motorists will be detoured to the nearby Manhattan Bridge, or may choose other crossings. The full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan-bound/westbound overnight occur Monday night through Friday morning between 11pm and 6am, Saturday 12:01am to 7am and 12:01am to 9am Sunday. These lane closures are necessary to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges rehabilitation work.

Brooklyn/Manhattan

Manhattan Bridge: One of two lanes on the south upper roadway eastbound into Brooklyn will be closed Saturday from 7am to 4:30pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge reconstruction work. During this time there will also be two westbound lanes open on the north upper roadway and two eastbound lanes open to traffic on the lower roadway.

Brooklyn Battery Tunnel: One of the two tubes will be closed from 10pm Friday through 5am Monday, with one lane of traffic being maintained in the open tube. This work is necessary to facilitate MTA construction activity.

Queens

Thomson Avenue approach ramps to/from North Upper Roadway and South Upper Roadway of Queens Boro/Ed Koch Bridge: These ramps will be closed 2am to 2pm Saturday and February 11/12 to facilitate NYCT overhead track replacement work. Motorists proceeding over the bridge westbound to Manhattan should use the 21st Street at Queens Plaza North Entrance (passenger cars only) or the lower roadway with access from Queens Plaza North at Crescent Street. Motorists on the South Upper Roadway of the bridge proceeding eastbound to Queens will be routed to the 21st Street Exit and should proceed southbound to 44th Drive and proceed on 44th Drive eastbound, for access to Thomson Avenue.

50th Avenue between 5th Street and Vernon Boulevard: This street will closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

Route:
• Union Street between 37th Avenue and Sanford Avenue
• Sanford Avenue between Union Street and Main Street
• Main Street between Sanford Avenue and 39th Avenue
Dispersal:
• Flushing Mall Parking Lot
The above streets will be closed Sunday from 11am to 1pm for the Flushing Chinese Business Association Parade as permitted by NYPD.

Brooklyn

Sumner Place between Broadway and Flushing Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

Tillary Street between Adams Street and Jay Street: One northbound lane will be maintained Sunday from 2am to 7am to facilitate crane operation. The southbound/westbound direction will not be affected.
