The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed for longer to allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally permitted to begin set-up at 8 am and breakdown must be completed by 7 pm.
Manhattan
East 12th Street between Avenue A and Avenue B: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 15th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
East 34th Street between 3rd Avenue and Lexington Avenue: One lane of traffic in each direction is maintained Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm to facilitate crane operation. Maintain one lane in each direction.
West 38th Street between 11th Avenue and 10th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
East 50th Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue: This street will be closed 11pm Friday through 5am Monday to facilitate crane operation.
West 50th Street between 9th Avenue and 8th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 7pm to facilitate crane operation.
East 82nd Street between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
West 87th Street between West End Avenue and Broadway: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
East 89th Street between York Avenue and East End Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 4pm to facilitate crane operation.
Greene Street between Grand Street and Broome Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
Irving Place between East 19th Street and East 20th Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 2pm to facilitate crane operation.
Elizabeth Street between Hester Street and Grand Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
John Street between Broadway and Nassau Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 7am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
Worth Street between Broadway and Church Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 7am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
Thames Street between Broadway and Trinity Place: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
Stone Street between Hanover Square and Broad Street; Mill Lane between Stone Street and South William Street: This street will be closed starting April 1, 2012 through November 30, 2012 from 11am to midnight as part of the Stone Street Mall as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
Lexington Avenue between East 34th Street and East 23rd Street: This street will be closed Sunday from 11am to 6pm for the Bellevue South Community Association Lexington Avenue Dubilee as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
Lexington Avenue between East 42nd Street and East 57th Street: This street will be closed Saturday from 11am to 6pm for the 17th Precinct Community Council Lexington Avenue Spring Festival as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
6th Avenue between West 14th Street and West 23rd Street: This street will be closed Saturday from 11am to 6pm for the Chelsea Reform Democratic Club Festival as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
Broadway between 43rd Street and 44th Street; 7th Avenue between 43rd Street and 44th Street: These streets will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 3pm for the Marine Day Time’s Square Fleet Week event as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
Broadway between West 72nd Street and West 86th Street (East Side/Northbound Roadway Only): This street will be closed Sunday from 12pm Noon to 5pm for the 25th Annual Livable West Side Festival as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
Liberty Street between Broadway and Trinity Place: This street will be closed Monday from 12pm Noon to 6pm for the Chabad of Wall Street Community Fair as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
Mulberry Street between Canal Street and Broome Street; Hester Street between Mott Street and Baxter Street: These streets will be closed 5:30pm Friday through 9pm Sunday for the Mulberry Street Pedestrian Mall as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO). These closures will occur on weekends during these hours through September 9, 2012.
Manhattan/Brooklyn
Brooklyn Bridge:One of three lanes may be closed in eastbound direction to Brooklyn as needed 10am to 3pm weekdays. These closures are necessary to facilitate long term bridge construction activity. Off peak hour single lane closures will occur, as needed on the local streets under the bridge through 2013. Several work zones exist on the bicycle/pedestrian promenade with narrow areas to transverse. This Bridge is closed to Manhattan-bound traffic overnight as of Monday night April 4th, 2011 to perform necessary long term rehabilitation and repainting work. Brooklyn-bound traffic will be maintained throughout the project as will the span’s pedestrian and cycling path. Motorists should follow signed routes to access the bridge leaving Manhattan. The northbound FDR exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting 1 hour before closure hours noted below. Motorists should use the prior South Street exit. The Brooklyn Queens Expressway eastbound exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting as early as 30 minutes before closure hours noted below. Motorists should proceed to the following Manhattan Bridge exit or use the prior Brooklyn Battery Tunnel (pay toll) exit for access to Manhattan. All work will occur overnight during off peak hours, when Manhattan-bound motorists will be detoured to the nearby Manhattan Bridge, or may choose other crossings. The full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan bound/westbound overnight will occur Monday night through Friday morning between 11pm and 6am, Saturday 12:01am to 7am and 12:01am to 9am Sunday.
Note: No closures will occur Memorial Day Weekend.
Brooklyn
8th Avenue between 39th Street and 49th Street: This street will be closed Sunday from 12pm Noon to 6pm for the 8th Avenue Spectacular event as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

Grand Street Bridge over Newtown Creek: This bridge will be closed Saturday from 7am to 3pm for bridge repair work.

Broadway between Crescent Street and 47th Street: This street will be closed Monday from 12pm Noon to 6pm for the Broadway Merchants Professionals Association Festival as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).
