How To Contact Your Elected Officials
U.S. House of Representatives
- You will need your 9-digit zip code. To find it click here and enter the requested information.
- Go to the U.S. House website. Enter the 9-digit zip code in the “Find Your Representative” tab in the upper left hand corner.
- Click on your Representative’s name to reach his/her website.
- There are 3 ways to contact your Representative:
- E-Mail: Click on the “Contact Me” tab or submit a note here using your 9-digit zip code.
- Phone: Call the 202 area code phone number.
- Mail: Write a letter to his/her Washington, DC address.
U.S. Senate
- Go to the U.S. Senate directory. You can search by both name and state.
- Click on your Senator’s name to reach his/her website.
- There are 3 ways to contact your Senator:
- E-Mail: Click on the “Contact Me” tab or look for the “Web Form” link below his/her name in the online directory.
- Phone: Call the 202 area code phone number.
- Mail: Write a letter to his/her Washington, DC address.
New York State Assembly
- Go to the NY State Assembly directory. Enter your 5-digit zip code in the “Member Search” box.
- Click on your Assembly member to reach his/her website. If you can’t find him or her in the directory, call 518-455-4218.
- There are 3 ways to contact your Assembly member:
- E-Mail: Click on the email on the right side of the page.
- Phone: Call the 518 area code phone number.
- Mail: Write a letter to his/her Albany, NY address.
New York State Senate
- Go to the New York State Senate website [link to www.nysenate.gov] and enter your street address 5-digit zip code near the top of the page.
- You will automatically be directed to your Senator’s website.
- There are 3 ways to contact your Senator:
- E-Mail: Enter the requested information into the “Contact Your Senator” form.
- Phone: Call the 518 area code phone number.
- Mail: Write a letter to his/her Albany, NY address.
New Jersey Legislature
- Go to the New Jersey Legislature directory [link to http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/members/legsearch.asp]. You can search the list by last name, municipality, legislative district or map.
- Click on your legislator(s).
- There are 3 ways to contact your legislator(s):
- Email: Click on “Contact Your Legislator(s)”. Your district’s legislators will appear. You can send them an e-mailat the same time.
- Phone: Call the phone number on the legislator’s page.
- Mail: Write a letter to the address on the legislator’s page.
