Thomas R. Frieden, MD, MPH, Director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, released an open letter (PDF) to 9/11 survivors and responders about the World Trade Center Health Program established by the Zadroga Act.

“We are confident that we will achieve the timely and full implementation of the Act in a way that guarantees the continuous care of existing beneficiaries and the provision of services for new enrollees,” writes Dr. Frieden, who is New York City’s former Health Commissioner.
