Zadroga Bill Becomes Law
January 5, 2011
The James L. Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act was signed into law by President Obama in early January. It provides federal funding to monitor and treat World Trade Center (WTC) responders and survivors through 2015 and reopens the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund.
The federal government has until July 1, 2011 to implement the WTC Health Program and re-open the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund. In the meantime, the WTC Centers of Excellence and the WTC National Responder Program will continue to deliver services with funds previously appropriated by Congress.
