Infant Car Seat Safety and Heat Entrapment

Children up to 7 years old must be in a car seat when riding in a car. Infants should be kept in rear-facing seats until they reach the maximum weight or height allowed by the maker of the car safety seat (or at least 20 lbs and 1 year old).

Heat and Car Trunk Entrapment

Do not leave your child/children alone in a car, even on a cool day - and even if you are running a quick errand. Childrens' body temperatures can rise very quickly, making them at risk for heat-related illnesses. Remember to always keep your car doors/trunk locked–if a child crawls in by accident, they may not be able to get out by themselves. Find out how to protect your family from heat and car trunk entrapment.
