A harmless looking toy or piece of children's jewelry can be dangerous if it contains lead paint, sharp edges or small pieces. Children can choke on toys or suffocate, causing injury or death.
Lead paint can cause learning and behavior problems in children—since infants often put toys in their mouths it is important that those toys are lead-free.
