Environmental Public Health Tracking Portal

The NYC Environmental Public Health Tracking Program collects local data from a variety of sources to:

  • Inform public health policy
  • Evaluate public health programs and services
  • Track progress in meeting environmental health and sustainability goals
  • Conduct research
  • Provide integrated environmental public health data to the National Network and general public

The interactive Rat Portal helps communities and professionals learn more about what they can do to control rats. The site includes the ability to search and display the Department's rat inspection findings for every neighborhood and property in NYC.

National Data Sharing
The tracking program is a part of the National Environmental Public Health Tracking Network. The National Network is an effort led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention* to share data and analyze trends in environmental public health across the nation. The Health Department is collaborating with the Mayor’s Office of Longterm Planning and Sustainability to expand its environmental public health tracking program to include indicators of environmental sustainability.
