Explanation of Scores and Percentage Calculations
For Continuing Day Treatment (CDT) Programs
PROGRAM RESULTS BY DOMAIN
Domain Scores:
- • Each Respondent the sum of scores (Strongly Agree = 5, Agree = 4, Neutral = 3, Disagree = 2 and Strongly Disagree = 1) of the items in the domain divided by the number of answered items in the domain. The domain score is calculated only when at least 2/3 of the items in the domain are answered.
- • Each Program the sum of all of the respondents' domain scores divided by the number of respondents with a score in the domain.
- • Average of All CDT Programs the sum of all of the CDT program domain scores divided by the number of CDT programs.
Percent of Respondents in Agreement:
- • Each Program the number of respondents whose domain score was >3.5 divided by the number of respondents with a score in the domain.
- • Average of All CDT Programs the sum of all of the CDT program percentages by domain divided by the number of CDT programs.
PROGRAM RESULTS BY ITEM
Item Scores:
- • Each Program the sum of all of the respondents' scores (Strongly Agree = 5, Agree = 4, Neutral = 3. Disagree = 2 and Strongly Disagree = 1) for the item divided by the number of respondents who answered the item.
- • Average of All CDT Programs the sum of all of the CDT program scores on the item divided by the number of CDT programs.
Percent of Respondents in Agreement:
- • Each Program the number of respondents who Agreed or Strongly Agreed with the item divided by the number of respondents.
- • Average of All CDT Programs the sum of all of the CDT program percentages for the item divided by the number of CDT programs.
Note:
Please note that the DMH method of scoring the MHSIP survey has changed from prior years: the previous scoring of Strongly Agree = 1 to Strongly Disagree = 5 is now reversed to read Strongly Agree = 5 to Strongly Disagree = 1. Accordingly, the domain score which indicates overall agreement has been changed from <2.5 to >3.5. These changes have not effected the calculations that determine a program=s performance.
