SUBWAY HERO JOINS EFFORT TO SAVE MORE LIVES BY URGING NEW YORKERS TO GET CHECKED FOR COLON CANCER
The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) today announced the launch of a public health campaign featuring Wesley Autrey, who came to the rescue of a fellow New Yorker who fell into the subway tracks last January, to get New Yorkers 50 and older screened for colon cancer.

430,000 NEW YORKERS SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION
More than 430,000 New Yorkers suffer from depression, according to survey results released today by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In addition, 200,000 New Yorkers have an anxiety disorder. Yet nearly half of these people go undiagnosed, and three out of five remain untreated.

RACCOON TESTS POSITIVE FOR RABIES IN MANHATTAN
A raccoon dropped off by two New Yorkers at the Manhattan Animal Care and Control Shelter tested positive for rabies yesterday, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene reported today. The Health Department is trying to identify these individuals, who may have been exposed to rabies while handling the animal.
