MEDIA ADVISORY: BOARD OF HEALTH TO MEET ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 2007

NEW YORK CITY – March 2, 2007 – Notice is hereby given that the Board of Health will hold a meeting on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 10:00AM. The meeting will be held at 125 Worth Street, Third Floor Boardroom, in lower Manhattan.

  1. Approval of minutes of meeting held December 5, 2006.

NEW YORK CITY HEALTH CODE

  1. Proposed resolution to amend Section 11.03(a) of the New York City Health Code to remove "urethritis, non-gonococcal" from the list of reportable diseases/conditions.

  2. Proposed resolution to repeal and reenact Article 47 of the New York City Health Code, affecting child care services, updating provisions applicable to the operation of such services in New York City.

  3. Proposed resolution to amend Sections 175.02 and 175.101 of the New York City Health Code in order to ensure compatibility with applicable federal NRC regulations on radioactive materials and licenses.

Proposed resolution to amend Article 115 of the New York City Health Code, affecting the Infant Formula Laboratory Services, Inc., (a formula preparation facility in New York City) to account for recently developed types of baby formula; and repealing Article 116 of the New York City Health Code as no longer necessary since the manufacturing of infant food formula in hermetically sealed containers is comprehensively regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

  5. Proposed resolution to amend the Department's Certificate of Birth and Confidential Medical Report of birth forms to be consistent with the 2003 United States Standard Certificate of Birth and to facilitate the integration of the NYS Department of Health's 'Statewide Perinatal Data System.'
