NEW YORK STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL BAIT SMALL AREA OF QUEENS TO PREVENT SPREAD OF RABIES AMONG RACCOONS
On Saturday, May 7, the New York State Health Department – working closely with the City Health Department – will bait a small residential area along the Queens/ Long Island border to prevent the spread of rabies virus among raccoons in the area.

NICOTINE PATCHES AVAILABLE TO FIRST 45,000 ELIGIBLE NYC SMOKERS WHO CALL 311
Quitting smoking isn’t easy, but it’s the best thing smokers can do for their health. In a continuing effort to make it easier for New Yorkers to quit smoking, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), in partnership with Pfizer Inc., will distribute full courses of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT, or “the patch”) at no cost to New Yorkers who smoke.
