Primary Care Information Project : NYC DOHMH

Health IT Extension Centers

As part of a $27 million Mayoral initiative to improve the quality and efficiency of health care in NYC, the Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) has been established to support the adoption and use of prevention-oriented EHRs primarily among providers who care for the city's underserved and vulnerable populations.

In 2010, PCIP established NYC REACH, a federally designated Regional Extension Center, to assist providers with choosing, adopting, and using an EHR to improve their patients' health. More information about this initiative is available at www.nycreach.org.

Selected Vendors

As an extension center, NYC REACH has selected three EHRs as preferred vendors: eClinicalWorks, Greenway, and MDLand. NYC REACH has negotiated discounts and complete software packages for members. In addition to these three, NYC REACH can help providers using other EHRs with achieving Meaningful Use and Patient-Centered Medical Home. Contact us at pcip@health.nyc.gov to learn more.
