Office of Program Review and Evaluation
Program Audits
The Office of Program Review and Evaluation (OPRE) is staffed by a team of experienced mental hygiene professionals who conduct on-site program audits to review contract compliance and quality of services.
OPRE's Standards For Program Audit are published and updated annually and are applicable to more than sixty program types in mental health, mental retardation/developmental disabilities, and chemical dependency services. In FY 2006, Standards for Program Audit for all programs now reflect changes that allow providers greater flexibility in documentation of service delivery, and delineate more clearly the areas of expected contract compliance in the provision of quality services to consumers. In addition, the review process continues to have emphasis on the delivery of quality practices rather than on written policies and procedures.
