Bureau of Maternal, Infant, and Reproductive Health : NYC DOHMH

BMIRH

Employee Lactation Program

Breast milk is the optimal food for the growth and development of infants. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Employee Lactation Program provides several options to support nursing mothers to continue breastfeeding their infants after returning to work. At 125 Worth Street, DOHMH has a designated lactation room where mothers can comfortably and efficiently express their milk using a hospital-grade electric pump. For mothers at other locations, DOHMH has hospital-grade electric pumps available for loan. The new Long Island City location will also have a lactation room. (More details to come!) All services are free of charge.
