Project Renew

Project Renew is a program within the Health Department that provides substance abuse (alcohol and/or drugs) screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment services at many free and confidential STD clinics during regular clinic visit. Project Renew is supported by funds from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Services: Drug and/or outpatient treatment. Individual Counseling: discuss family, social, academic, and personal issues. Group Sessions: Group sessions utilize a model drug abuse prevention/intervention curriculum known as Project Towards No Drug Abuse (TND). TND is a 12-session curriculum focused on specific topics, including: active listening, stereotyping, myths and denial, chemical dependency, marijuana use, tobacco cessation, stress and health, self-control, positive and negative thinking, perspectives, and decision-making and commitment.
