The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene issues many types of licenses and permits under the NYC Health Code. More information about the licenses and permits DOHMH issues can be found at the links below, along with information about how to apply, regulations and requirements.
You can now renew all NYC Health Department permits or licenses online (except those for Child Care programs). You will need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to link to your existing permit or license record. Your PIN can be found on the Renewal Notice you received in the mail. If you do not have access to your Renewal Notice, you may
request a pin be emailed to you or you can call 311. You can use your PIN to renew online.
Check the Status of Your Application
You can get the status of a new or renewal permit application. You must have the CAMIS ID number or the Record Number provided to you when you applied for a new permit. Registration is required. Check the status.
What to do if you Receive a Notice of Violation from the Health Department
If you receive a notice of violation (NOV) from the Health Department, your NOV will be adjudicated at either the Health Tribunal or the Environmental Control Board. Check your ticket to see which of these courts will hear your case and visit their website for assistance in understanding your NOV and guidance on how to respond.
