The mission of the Bureau of Immunization is to prevent the occurrence and transmission of diseases through immunization. The Bureau promotes the immunization of children and adults against Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Varicella, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Haemophilus Influenzae Type B, Polio, Influenza and Pneumococcal disease.

Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Program
  • The program identifies hepatitis B positive pregnant women, conducts case management of infants at risk for perinatal hepatitis B infection and works with hospitals to achieve universal birth dose coverage and documentation of the birth dose in the Citywide Immunization Registry.
  • To report Hepatitis B in Pregnancy to the Bureau of Immunization, go to Hepatitis B/Perinatal Hepatitis B webpage.
