The Division of Health Care Access and Improvement promotes improvements in
population health through supporting high quality health care services in New
York City. Our programs include:
- • Correctional Health
Services coordinates medical, dental, and mental health care as well
as discharge planning for people incarcerated in New York City jails.

- • Health Insurance
Services enrolls families into health insurance; works to improve the
quality of health care offered through Medicaid managed care organizations,
and promotes appropriate health care utilization and preventive health
behaviors.

- • Information Technology provides divisional Information Technology
services and support covering third party and internally developed
applications; system and operational analysis and design; system training and
implementation; and recommendations for technological advancement in
partnership with the Division of Information and Informatics Technology.

- • The Primary Care Information
Project supports the adoption and use of prevention-oriented
electronic health records among primary care providers in New York City's
underserved communities.
