Food Protection Course – Classroom Training

This course satisfies the Health Code requirement that supervisors of food service establishments and non-retail food service establishments be certified as having completed a course in food protection. The course is also available online for free, and is now offered in Spanish, Chinese and English.
This course costs $105.00 and lasts for five sessions. It usually starts on Monday and ends Friday. The course is conducted over fifteen hours with classes three hours daily. Whenever Monday is a City holiday, classes begin on Tuesday. In any four-day work week classes last three hours and forty-five minutes each day.
These classes are held continuously. In the daytime, classes are held in English from 9am to noon and 1pm to 4pm. In the evening, from 5pm to 8pm two classes are held each month in English, Chinese and Spanish. In addition, one evening class is held each month in Korean.
Participants who complete the course and are successful at the final examination are issued certificates.
Registration for this course is done in person at the Citywide Licensing Center with payment of the fee in certified check or money order.
