Food Protection (4-hour) Course for Soup Kitchen and Summer Camp Workers
This course satisfies the Health Code requirement that anyone who works or is a volunteer in a soup kitchen and anyone who serves food at a summer or day camp be certified in a course on Food Safety. The course includes a presentation on Food Safety and case studies.
Note: Supervisors at summer camps that prepare food must take the 15-hour food protection course.
Cost: Free
Frequency and Duration: This is a four-hour course conducted once each month (more classes are added in the spring and summer).
Participants who complete the course are issued laminated cards as proof as having completed a course in food safety.
