Even though some nutrition information seems complicated, the basics of healthy eating are quite simple:
    Eating Out in NY
  • Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat or fat-free milk and milk products.


  • Include lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and limit red meat, highly processed foods, added sugars and sugar-sweetened beverages, such as regular soda.


  • Reduce unhealthy fats (saturated fat, such as lard and butter, and trans fat, such as margarine), and replace them with healthy fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, such as canola and
    olive oils).
